This is an especially important photo for me. I took this the last time I visited part of my mom's family's farm where three generations lived. I grew up spending a fair amount of time here with my Aunts and Uncles, Grandma, parents, cousins, and extended family. I remember watching this field through the picture window as storms loomed over it, the wind in the grass, walking down the nearby road as it was lined with sunflowers, playing in my mom's late Bubcia's yard, admiring the Snowy Owl taxidermy in the living room, sitting in the back of dad's pickup truck listening to the coyotes, and so many more memories. But now no one lives there. It's beginning to be reclaimed by the prairie winds. And maybe that's not a bad thing, it's maybe time for us all to move on as we know not all memories are happy ones. But letting go is very hard still, and it will always feel like a part of me is there as long as the yard is recognizable. But as we passed abandoned farmyards, once filled with children my mom played with as a young girl, I'm reminded that it is inevitable that this will no longer be part of our lives one day. The Past
Photos will be cropped to fit the selected print size. Never handle photos by hand! Always use clean soft gloves or have framed by a trusted professional. The oils from your hands will leave marks and deteriorate the ink on the print.
